Its the same tactic politicians and the government use on the regular to sway opinion. If you say something enough people start to believe it. Once they do, its hard to get it out of their heads. Its a tactic that has been used time and time again and proves quite effective. If it isn't stomped out immediately it stands a chance of becoming a self fullfilling prophecy. AKA...

How are half of those self-fulfilling prophecies? The PS3 has games, the 3DS is not doomed, and there are still profitable exclusives.
You make it sound like critics owe it to Sony to try to help sell their system or something. They don't.

Man, your conclusions are staggering. Now, seriously. Shut the fuck up and play some Indie games! Braid, Cave Story, Fez, Flower, Journey, Limbo, Sound Shapes, Super Meat Boy, World of Goo. You're missing a lot... |
Frankly, I'd say none of those games are good. Indie games ARE generally lower quality than their bigger brothers and frequently get free passes simply for being Indie or for having unconventional visual styles. If any of those games were put out by a major dev they wouldn't have gotten half the acclaim, because the bar is higher for non-Indie games.
