I think I can explain though asking a question ...
How many high quality games released by third party publishers are similar to a 3D Mario platformer, 2D Mario platformer, Mario Kart, The Legend of Zelda, Pikmin, Super Smash Bros, Wii Sports, Wii Fit, Art Academy, Pokemon, Animal Crossing, or (almost) every Nintendo game?
Nintendo's success comes from creating high quality games in new genres they created or genres that the rest of the industry has abandoned, and the result of this is that a large portion of gamers can only really have their needs met by Nintendo. Making games in genres that third party publishers are already focused on is not a winning strategy for Nintendo and I would recommend that Nintendo focus on completely different genres.
