Well, haven't Retro been hiring developers in the past year or two that have worked on exactly the kind of 'hardcore' PS360 games described in the OP? I'm pretty sure whatever Retro's working on right now will be quite epic and 'hardcore', and I'm betting we'll find out a lot more @ E3 2013.
