So you really think they just decided to sit on their asses instead of work?

Might it have something to do with the fact they already have a new Wii U VC planned so it doesn't really make sense to reprogram all the emulators twice for the Wii U?  Or to open up a potential Wii based exploit into the Wii U security when, again, a new VC for Wii U is in development that won't have a potentially exploitable Wii to Wii U bridge?

Do you realize just how many factors are involved that could explain why this feature is not yet implemented?  If you do, then why suggest it's just laziness?

The fact that they realise that it's a no brainer to have that feature and they didn't include it, but will later, doesn't speak well on Nintendo's part. That's all I'm saying. Because you do not make a console with the capabilities of the Wii U and just leave out, to add later, a very desired feature of the console.

Whatever VC they have planned for the Wii U, should have been available at launch, again, this is a no brainer, just like the system being able to use at least two Gamepads. The latter feature is built in, so why something as 'simple' a a new, reused, or even stiched-up VC for the Gamepad couldn't be included at launch is beyond me. So six months later we're all suppose to be excited that the Wii U can finally play VC games on the Gamepad?

Yes there maybe a lot of factors why they didn't impliment the feature, but I believe that none would be significant enough to justify not including the feature at launch, while hoping to release it in the near future. Maybe they are not being lazy, maybe there're just being Nintendo! And we all know what that means

It is a desirable feature but I don't think that it was a break-it-or-make-it feature, because the mass audiences are less concerned with playing their VC games on their gamepad than we would think. Nintendo would not be thinking "Hey, what's a feature we want and why would we not include it during launch?" but they would think, "Hey, what's a feature we want, and why should we absolutely include it for launch?" And they decided many things. And other things didn't make the cut. FFS, not even Wii TVii made the cut, and that's AFTER Reggie said it would *shakes fist* On the other hand, nobody ever ever promised that VC would be playable from the screen. Nobody.

In terms of straight pay-off, it seems that more time + resources would need to go into this feature than would pay-off in the short run (having the feature ready for launch.) I don't think this feature is as easy to implement as people think it is, because it's simply different than any infrastructure that Nintendo has right now. It would require more programming, and they were probably knee deep just trying to get the most important parts of Wii U up and running. And let's be honest, this is not one of the most important possible features of Wii U, even if some of us are begging for it (myself included.)

Firstly, Nintendo has made some crap decisions (in retrospect) in the past like sticking cartriges, not being online, no HD, and they made these decisions based on their 'informed' judgement. So, it is very likely that they were thinking " why would we not include it during launch" for VC play on the Gamepad.

Secondly, I agree that it might take alot of work to get VC games on the gamespad, but this is Nintendo, not some sandwich making company. They design consoles and games to play on those console. It is then difficult to accept that they can't get games to play on a console.
