Why the Wii U might be set up for failure

Well personally i dont thin that US Dollars 300 are to high but maybe thats because i have buyed a PS3 at launch and have different standards than other peoples.

But i agree at some points. The problem i see right now is that nintendo hasent the casual market for themselfs anymore. So more competition also means less sales. Microsoft and Sony will also try hard to get the casual costumers for themselfs ( Kinect 2.0, Eye Toy Cam 2.0 )
So the casual crowd will have a much smaller impact this time.

Second problem is that right now the hardcore audience only get some ports from older games and some multiplats that wont push many software. I mean why would i spend 300 dollars for a console to play games like Assassisn Creed 3 if i can have the same game for my PS3 and all my friends playing the same game on PS3. Seriously not.

Next Problem is that the actual line up and support for PS3 and X Box 360 is pretty strong so late in the gen and of course Sony has many exclusives to attrackt new costumers- plus the cheap price and maybe price cuts next year the competition is strong for Wii U.

The hype for sonys and Microsofts next gen systems will also be some key factor for the success of the Wii U.
Most of the gamers will simply wait to see what Sony or Microsoft will offer and i think most of us gamers expect the new consoles to be more powerful than Wii U.
Thats alsoone of the issues the Wii U right now have. They say that the console is much more powerful than the PS3 or X360 but yet they doesnt show us one game that can proof that.

Next problem is the market situation. Europe is dominatet by Sony and US is dominatet by Microsoft. So each of them now has a big market recognation in there territorries.

So if you ask me ( and thats only my honest opinion, i dont say that this is fact) the most gamers which will buy the Wii U will be the nintendo fans. So i expect 2-4 good weeks ( because nintendo has a big fanbase and christmas effect and probably a big marketing campagne) but after dezember is the challenging time for the Wii U.The time form January 2013-Dez2013.

I dont expect a gamecube scenario but i also dont expect Wii levels of sales.
