If I'm not mistaken tri-Ace and S-E had a dispute over the PSP port of Star Ocean so they won't work with S-E again. And tri-Ace doesn't own the rights of those franchises.

Really? Didnt know they had a dispute o.O.

Yes I know Tri Ace doesnt own the franchises which can mean a good thing or a bad thing in the long run depending on how they use the IPs or if they even bother to do anything in the first place.

That's why their latest games have been published by Sega or Konami.

Square-Enix have the rights... I have no idea what are they going to do with them. They still have to release Final Fantasy XIII Versus, and they have bigger franchises like Kingdom Hearts waiting.

well tri-ace did work on FFXIII-2 with SE. So I don't think not working with SE is correct because they just did. Though they very well could have a dispute.

I think SE said they didn't want tri-ace's new IP's. Essentially they just wanted Star Ocean, maybe Valkyrie profile. Ask Xxain he's tri-ace's knowlege bucket.
