My guess was that both would hit their individual marks after the Jan 5th cut off, with the 3DS hitting first. Random guess, but either of ours could be right. At this point, unless the Vita pulls out amazing numbers for the next 8 weeks straight, the 3DS will likely win the race, so I think now one needs to simply wonder whether it'll be before or after the 5th that it wins.
