Of course they could change tradition... but going by it, the true main problem with this game is that Final Fantasies are usually (almost always) released in the end of the year.

And since Lighting Returns is scheduled for the end of next year... I don't think they will put 2 PS3 FFs against each other. So that leaves end of 2014 (!!??) for this game in japan and Spring 2015 (????!!!!) for the localized version.

Well, I don't think they could be THIS much crazy.

I don't think Lightning Returns has a precise release date does it? It could easily release mid next year. It is an Action game, less RPG like from what I understand. However unlikely, there is still a small chance they could do a blow out early next year. Show off more gameplay than we can handle, give us the full premise of the story, start detailing characters. Then at E3, give us a bit more. Around that time also LR:FFXIII releases. Then Versus Release Late November Holiday. I don't know if SE is dilusional enough to believe Lightning Returns is Holiday Season caliber game, it can only do worse than XIII-2 and that is not very good at all. The best they could do for LR is bundle it with a Versus demo, would be the only way I would get it (Hell, it worked for DQVII PS2).

Not sure what to think about FFXIV, maybe  Q1 or Q2 2014 for PS3/4. For all intents and purposes the releases of FFXIV and Versus could be switched tho. FFXIII released early in the year (US).
