so, in order to comment in this thread I have to listen to an hour long speech? No wonder so many people are responding...

I listened to some of it, skimmed it. I've never been a big Ron Paul fan, I like his position on a lot of foreign policy and social issues, but not so much on his fiscal issues. I know, I'm a bit backward from most people. Entitlements do need to be cut back, but I think Ron Paul takes it too far. A lot of what he said in the speech makes sense. However, Ron Paul will mostly be remembered as being an extremist in the republican party. I think the paul legacy will come in the form of his son Rand, who I see as being president or at least vice president some day.
