I personally rarely preorder a game unless it comes with preorder bonusses or unless it's a game i'm REALLY hyped about and wanna make sure I get on day 1 no matter how popular it is.

I reserved Batman:AC Armored edition alongside my Wii U, I figured that because I was already at the shop reserving a console, might aswell reserve a game I want. I plan on picking up ZombiU, NSMBU, and Darksiders2 eventualy, but I won't reserve those, when I'll be done with Batman and Nintendo Land I'll show up to the store and just pick up one of them depending on wich is available (alltho I seriously expect them to all be available at stores so I'll end up picking Zombi U most likely)
