I don't care much for these rumors but there is a point where the news reporter says "this is to ensure that it can play games at 1080p and 60 fps in 3D"...

Sadly PS4 won't be able to do this as the 3D spec doesn't support 1080p anything over HDMI. 1080p @ 24fps for bluray is max it can do. Only connection allowing for 1080p 3D gaming is dual link DVI.

Also, even if magically they decided to include a Dual Link DVI port on some new TVs, there is no way in hell next gen will be able to do 1080p 3D @60 fps with an AMD APU. You'd need a latest Intel i5 and a GTX 680 to do that.

Otherwise, carry on with rumors...

Ah, I forgot that about HDMI 1.4.  It's limited - regardless what some other are posting.  And they can't really push it further.  Isn't the 2K at 24 limited to somthing like 1 meter (3 feet) in length.  They connections aren't shielded well.  It's great, but it's stuck as it's so limited.

There has been talk about using something like an eithernet port - so you could use your CAT5/6 cables.  I think this would be great, common, inexpensive, high quality, and you can make them quite long.  However, I don't know if the TV manufactures will use it, not if they could make Hollywood happy with it like they have with the DRM on HDMI.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.
