Great Thread! I have been thinking about one for a while too. Since this is a want/wish list. I am not going to be holding back.
For the Controller - I think they both should have built in speakers. I know it is coping the Wii, but it actually can be useful in games (like when a turtle is going to hit you). It can be used to let you know when things are happening to your charter (and perhaps just a headset for private stuff that your opponents shouldn't hear.)
Also, I Think it would be neat if it had little LED's all over it. So like, when you character is in trouble, it could start glowing. And get super bright if you character was holding something radio active. And it could change colours and stuff.
Fantasy – to have controllers with not only vibration feedback, but force too. It would have little gyroscopes could cause forces to resist against movement. So to open a chest in a game, it would actually require a little real force. Or using a club vs a skinny sword. Just more virtual reality kind of things.
Graphics: I want 3D 4K at 120Hz. Ok, that's nuts, but how about 120 frames per second per eye at 1080p? And DirectX 12 or the OpenGL equivalent, whenever they come out.
And the 3D goggle ideas would be awesome too! (wireless please.)
Sound: it's already really good at Dolby 5.1, but 7.2 (7.1) might be just a bit better and more fun when you have things surround you. (I was just playing Alan Wake with a friend and I forgot how well the sound gives you directions of which way the baddies are coming - so creepy.)
Other:
I think the Microsoft Kinect/Projection system could be amazing (or using the glasses.) Living in an immersive world in the glasses, and having the actual layout of your place incorporated into the game would be stellar. You could use the goggles AND not crash into everything and destroy yourself. (I’ve smacked things really hard a few times with movement games :( already.)
