Being first to the market will help Nintendo in more ways than one.
It helps being the only next gen console for pratically a whole year. But more than that, it might help change the image that Wii left where the big, importante 3rd party games either weren`t there or weren`t as good (HD, online).
We all know that first to the market hasn`t ever been a sign of success, but, if we look closely, the console/brand that mass market wanted never actually was the first one to arrive to the market. Yes there were some surprises like PS1 (newcomer) and Wii (everyone thought PS3 was already a winner).

People/analysts will most times be wrong because they think that things are already written in stone.
I`m pretty sure everyoe thought N64 and PS3 were sure winners, given the success of SNES and PS2. They were wrong! Things change. Loyalty exists, but time has showed us that even that changes! Nintendo>Sony and once again Nintendo.

Wii U does indeed have a great line up. But bigger than that are the quality of it`s exclusives and their number.
3rd parties are already showing support that Wii never even dreamt of. And remembre, Wii was a casual machine with a casual audience behind it, so, why bet on it if they didn`t believe Wii U would be diferent?

Wii was never truly appreciated for what it offered. Yes, the big games skipped the console, but it still provided a lot of fun and great games.
As i said, Wii U will have about an year to change people`s minds and i honestly believe it will - just give it time!

Xbox 3 and PS4 have high hopes behind it because of what PS3 and Xbox 360 delivered this gen, so people are expecting the same thing to happen again.
My guess is the only thing we will see is better visuals and more media centric devices and i honestly don`t think that will make that big of impact. Specially if they don`t so something as good as Miiverse or Nintendo TVii.
in terms of games, be prepared for a hyke in prices if visual quality goes really up. In terms of control, what innovation will they offer?
