I don't think they left Nintendo completely.  They supposedly had several projects in the works for the Wii.  They also had a PS3/360 multiplat game.  The biggest problem they had was hooking their wagon up to Brash Entertainment to publish games for them.  When they went down, Factor 5 was suddenly without a publisher or source of funds.

LucasArts had published most of their recent games before Lair.  I wonder what happened with that relationship.

I remember reading that things were going really slow.  Nintendo wasn't giving them work, nor was Lucas Arts, so they had to start looking to other publishers.
