Well, I live in Sweden and we usually don't have too many VG ads, but I haven't seen anything at all here about the Wii U!!

Yes, the media has been pondering what to even make of the Wii U because its not like the Wii where it makes things simpler for casuals. Nintendo has all the Wii's sold out, but what will happen next year? How will the marketing need to pick up and change?

It might be that Nintendo is counting on Nintendo fans and core gamers to pick up the system, so they don't advertise too much to the general public. Maybe they count on the core to get the casuals to play the system, and seeing how fun it (hopefully) will be they decide to get it as well. That's why they won't release Wii Fit U until next year: thats when the general public will have noticed Wii U

The media knows what the WIi U is and Nintendo is marketing it, just not as vigerously as last gen. Secondly, I think its too complex a concept for the casuals to understand unlike the Wii. The Kids will definitely have to get their parents to buy it if they can look past the 360 and PS3. Definitely the Nintendo core have already sold this out because no matter what, it's still Nintendo, but what the panel is worried about is next year and the year after that. They will need to win over a certain amount of casuals. They also brought up that the core who own Xbox 360's and PS3's that play COD mostly wont shift and the COD will sell underpar.  Multiplatform games isn't a selling point and is only as potent as Microsofts "Better with Kinect" deal.
