I pledged to Star Citizen even though I find the Kickstarter program absolutely silly. The whole idea of asking players to invest 100% of the risk with no return other than seeing the game released really doesn't make sense to me. But that's just how awesome Star Citizen looked and how appealing it was.
This - isn't. I'm not sure how ambitious or big this project will end up once it's released, but it seems like a "cheap" version (even if it isn't). He also doesn't have the most magical video presentation and something about his presentation felt inexperienced, nervous, and lacking true ambition. Maybe he was just super nervous, but if he wants gamers to take 100% of the monetary risk then he needs to do a better job! (Or not, considering how fast it's being funded so far and the fact that it lasts 2 months instead of the usual 1 month.)
