N64 was a light black or dark grey depending on how you see it. AFAIK this is the first home console to launch in more than one color.

The GC launched in black and purple in Europe (and that's what really counts here).

yeah i remember the purple one as my brother had it but i never saw the black GC over here myself,that scuppers my theory
