"Hardcore" gamer? haha , shut up. That thing does not exist, it´s justa mirror created by the gaming journalism.
In the Internet Nintendo is a sh*it, a thing for kids, Xbox360 and Ps3 rules, even the vita rules!!
But why does Nintendo leads in sales??
Because that bullsh*it of "hardcore gamers" and "Nintendo sucks", are just a few persons with personality problems who just repeat what the "journalism" say.
