LOL.

I agree. Its something beautiful.

DF had this to say.

" In an era where the likes of Naughty Dog and Sony Santa Monica have defined the graphical state-of-the-art with Uncharted and God of War, Xbox 360 finally has its own shot at the title - and it's a genuinely worthwhile, lavish and occasionally even breathtaking experience."

So even technically its up there with a genuine shout.

Genuinely noone can knock anyone down for saying Halo 4 best visuals. It has every right to have that label or at least fight for it.

To me its lighting is truly unmatched even by the late Forza Horizon. Everything is Epic, well textured and filled with detail.

Awesome.

DF also said =
"Remember that feeling you had when playing the first 20 minutes of God of War 3 for the first time? The sensation that the developers had somehow extracted next-gen visuals from current gen hardware? While Halo 4 doesn't quite engender that feeling of hushed awe, it gets very, very close"

So yeah. Not "quite" there!

Your misusing the words. It doesnt mean its not quite there against GOW3 ( which cannot compete with Halo 4 lighting and scale. )

They are refferring very clearly to te first time you saw GOW3 first 20 mins. Things ave moved on since then. We are used to high lighting and seamless visuals now. But even in todays graphical environment Halo 4 still nearly manages that same feeling of 2009. If anything that comment is showing halo 4 is there and then some.

It doesnt mean its not quite to GOW3 LOL. altough GOW3 is my fave graphics on PS3 over Uncharted and Killzone.

GoW3 released in 2010...

Have you really played GoW3? Because GoW3 not being able to compete in scale is a RIDICILOUS statement.

Yes I have LOL.

I know your refferring to the big battles. To be honest the character models on the bosses are amazing. But everything around it ( or usually when they appear there is nothing else in frame ) looks basic. Its not scale in the sense of oter games. Although big, it never feels big. Mostly due to the scenery being non existant and the controls being linear on movements.

The sheer scale of the landscapes in Halo 4 is not matced by anything in GOW3. Add to that actually. Nothing in GOW3 remotely comes close to the scale of that massive Forerunner interior part. Mission 3 I think. THAT is scale. Then you battle on it. Its funny because COD or Killzone for example have these so called big ticket moments in them. Scripted or explosions. Halo 4 rips those big ticket moments up 10 or more times throughout the campaign and rewrites just what scale is for games. Previous Halos are also dwarfed.

If a 1600 ft boss isn't scale, I don't know what it is anymore. And a giant animated character model, with physics, animation, interaction and a lot of enemies over it is more complex than landscapes.

Nothing in GOW3 has physics or great animation in context of the character bosses. 80% of it you dont control. Its just QTES and fixed camera. Epic scale is more than just about size. Its about being right in the middle of something, being able to view it how you want with 100% full control. To be running and gunning for example whilst rigt in front of you sits a 3,000 foot spacecraft that spans the entire sky. Being able to fully control the camera in all its awe. Thats epic scale.  Its difficult to feel epic in scale when its a fixed or controlled camera spinning around when you get the button presses right. To be onest when you think about it. Halo 4 or Uncharted are much more impressive. But alas GOW3 looks better than UC imo.
