The OT Star Wars had fun banter between the characters and fun relationships between the main players.
The prequels were painfully awful in this regard.
If they can get this aspect right for the new trilogy, there are 60% there to a good Star Wars movie IMO.
The Avengers and the new Star Trek have poorly written plots, but they "worked" mostly because the banter/character relationships are fun.
