Yes, people already using all of Google's stuff will like it more right off sure. But the question, why leave Win/Mac, is already answered with people flocking to iPads and other tablets instead of laptops/netbooks. In just the last couple years, tablets have significantly cut into laptop/netbook sales and to a lesser extent desktops. People simply don't need all that in majority of home user scenarios. Now that Android has a real tablet OS post 4.x and the Nexus7, 10 and Note 10.1 are solid alternatives to iPads, that will only continue.

ChromeOS is also growing in features rapidly. Just a few months ago GoogleDocs offline support was read-only. Not you can fully edit. Point is, its rapidly growing and only getting better. Tons of new apps everyday and its going to merge with Android at some point as well.

Your arguments here are all over the place. 

First the Chromebook supposedly destroys the Netbook. And now that isn't the case, but the OS destroys it? It may run a little faster, but guess what...I have an Acer W500 tablet hybrid which runs the exact same config as that netbook and Windows 7 runs fine on it. Not laggy in any way. Windows 8 runs even better and I bet as fast if not faster than functionally limited Chrome OS.

They you whip out an argument about Google tablets taking marketshare from the iPad, which is taking marketshare from PCs or something. If you say so. Lets see who takes more marketshare in the next few years. Windows with an actual mobile and unchallenged desktop platform or Chrome OS. Or do we count Android as part of Chrome OS too now? 

I've never seen anyone love a company so much that they are willing to settle for an inferior product to an extent that Chrome OS is inferior to Windows 7/8...

I think you misunderstood his point. He isn't saying that Chrome OS is better. What he is saying is that Windows eats up a lot of those specs so even though they are the same spec'd hardware, the specs on the Chrome book are better because there is more left over for you to use outside of just running the OS. This also leads Chrome to run faster than Windows.

You also misunderstood his other argument. He never said Android was taking market share away from the Ipad. What he said was that Android Tablets and the Ipad are taking away marketshare from traditional OS that run on Laptops and PCs, proving that people do not need all the stuff that you are saying people wont want to give up by switching to a Chrome book. 

The Chrome book is designed to get rid of all the stuff that most people don't use and as a result focus on the things that people do use. It's a well thought out machine. Things like reducing the size of the hard drive because most things will be on the cloud and then offering a faster accessed hard drive is one of those decisions. It may not look like a better situation to the average consumer on paper because people tend to just look at numbers like 500GB or 1TB and think it's better for them. But most people don't even need that much hard drive space, and if they do, there is the cloud for people to use. A lot of people buy laptops/netbooks now days and don't use 85% of the hard drive space. Google sees this as wasted cost. Specs being chewed up by the OS, is wasted cost. Fix these problems and you can offer a machine at a lower price that still does what most people need it to do. It might not be for everyone, but you are completely missing the point and the functionality of the Chrome Book. Kind of makes your last statement pretty ironic.
