Hmmmm......my system seller was:
Genesis: knowing it was out, and all the cool kids had one
SNES: Same as Genesis
PS1: My friend got a PS1 and Spyro, and I wanted it... so Spyro (lol)
N64: Super Mario 64...never actually owned it, but it was the reason I wanted an N64
Dreamcast: Cheap. I knew people with it, but I never got it till it was liquidated. So it's $50 pricetag was my seller
PS2: Not a seller.....brand loyalty at that time
PSP: Free.....
PS3: Not one game, but the first party lineup from fall 2007, plus the games I know will be on it. The conglomerate of those games sold me on this console.
