No pictures right now, i'm at work and my home is without power so I can't upload, but my community was hit a bit hard by Sandy earlier in the week and we have power lines down, gigantic trees toppled over, houses caved in and over in Breezy Point there were 111 houses burned down. I live in Selden, Long Island.
However, when you walk through my streets you see extension cords going from house to house because everyone who still has power is sharing theirs with neighbors so they can keep their food from going bad, people offering the ability for neighbors and their families to take hot showers in their homes.
Half the community, without power and damaged homes were still in the spirit of Halloween, making use of damaged homes and fallen trees with decorations, all in the hopes of making it fun for the children of the area. Of of them had a tree fall right in front of the front foor and it actually created a archway and my daughter loved it. 
A truly wonderful community here.
