You should've made it clear. GOW stands for Gears of War; because its a higher selling franchise, anytime you say GOW people will automatically assume you're referring to Gears of War. |
LOL!
1) God of War came out first in March 2005 whereas Gears of War released November 2006.
2) God of War has a much larger and faster growing fanbase meaning more people use the acronym 'GoW' when talking about God of War (according to largest Facebook fan group):
God of War: 3,394,853 VS. Gears of War: 2,145,537.
3) The God of War franchise (22m) is bigger than Gears of War (18m but probably undertracked a bit) at the moment and the gap will grow because GoW: Ascension will be bigger than GeoW: Judgment and there will be another God of War game for the PS Vita within the next 2 years growing the gap even bigger.
4) The God of War trilogy is more critically acclaimed than the Gears of War trilogy (GameRankings).
God of War = 92.96% VS. Gears of War = 92.86%.
As you can see, God of War >>>> Gears of War, thus GoW currently and will forever mean God of War. :)
I once loved the Gears of War franchise but GeoW 3 (which I bought the Epic Edition for) put me off big time no matter how hard I tried to force myself to love it and GeoW: Judgment looks like shit. Oh yeah, you can use GeoW for Gears of War by the way.
With that said, here's my opinion on the pre-order data. Bioshock Infinite looks overtracked, GoW:A/Halo 4/ COD: BO2/ AC3 look undertracked, Hitman's doing decently and I have no comment on the other games. All a bit 'meh' to be honest.
