That didn't disrpove anything. I stand by my stance that 360 has the content and MS has the marketing to back it up. You just seem to think its purely marketing when in reality, the long term success of any product depends on actual quality. Sounds like your jealous that MS likes putting flash into its campaigns where as Sony shops at the thrift store by comparison. I am 100% positive you would just love it if Sony made a Forward Unto Dawn movie for Uncharted, or shut down times square for GT5. You would just love to get caught up in the hype Sony generates. But you cant. You rely on pure forum word of mouth with Sony doing the bare minimum. And here you are looking across to see the other camp relishing in their hype trains that MS is all too happy to supply. lol its so simple. You have marketing envy. My God has more money then your God :P |
Im trying to prove a point to you, this isn't jealousy. I am impressed with Microsofts marketing and with the amount of effort they put into selling less than a handleful of games. Sony makes so many games it is no wonder they cannot afford to market them properly. Sony has made more IP's and they will continue to have far more than Microsoft before the gen is over. They took too many risks with their console. I respect a game company that makes games, that is all, so dont turn this into a fanboy war. I dont care if you love Microsoft, I put my trust in Sony because they always deliver for the gamer. If they were to die I would be saddened because of the lack of games that would come out because of their absence but I would move on. Its not like Microsoft will keep the core tithed over as they only have been coming out with one to two core titles every year for the last three years. Wherever the games go I go. As far as Sony goes, they werent as social as they could've been. I mean seriously, if you go to the Xbox facebook they never show games, they only show celebrity events with the same Kinect games every day.
Kinect is a failure for people like us because the whole "Kinect for the core" campaign that Microsoft was blabbing about was a failure. Sony knew the tech couldn't work, Microsoft probably knew but still sold it. They will need a peripheral like the Sony Move and you're making this arguement go in circles. The Kinect is not capable enough to play core games without following Sonys lead. Any multi-billion dollar corporation that has a monopoly on the PC os market can close down Time Square and pay for as much market saturation as possible. As I said Microsoft was a success with casuals, but not everyone is using it as their media hub. Eventually most will just go back to their remote controls unless they are playing Dance Central. When it comes to concrete content for games Sony will always have more. Concrete, as in proof, tangible, something that can be touched which is why I have so much to play between my PS3 and my Xbox 360. The only game I left to play on my 360 is Halo 4, thats it....ive been waiting months just for that and then one more game next year. You act like you dont know American consumerism and why there is so much A.D.D. in this country, because of the amount of market saturation and commercialism that exists at such a fast pace.
Anything that wins over the casuals is a market success. Microsoft did just that. The Playstation right now is truly the console of the core and that doesnt bother me none at all because thats how its always been.
