Microsoft Kinect: Why it failed to do what it was supposed to do even though it was successful

Money-wise I would guess it broke even at best. Kinect attracted many casuals but it probably alienated just as many hardcore gamers.

I believe Kinect's true legacy will be that it embarrassed gaming rather than supplemented it.
