In my business the law is we only charge taxes on the goods we sell within our state (there are exceptions there, such as schools or religious institutions which are tax free). Inter state commerce is tax free, so the price is the price (no tax) for nearly 90% of our customer base.
I would venture to say if you purchased a Wii U from another state with a business that has no branch in your state you would pay zero tax. Shipping, of course, would be another matter.
