I think its the bolded. In the Review she talks about how charming the story is but not too complex in any way. One could say the same with games like Pokemon that are aimed at small children. Their stories don't have to be MGS level of complexity to be good. Why she still rated it the way she did is beyond me but from just reading the Review and not concentrating on the Rate, it sounds stellar.
