Jon-Erich said: It's unfortunate that Apple suffers from what I call the Nintendo effect. This is because a million companies can do something like create countless sequels and have re-releases of their old games, yet when Nintendo does it, they're hated for it. In Apple's case, they're doing something that's not unlike what their competitors are doing, yet they're hated for it. Don't get me wrong, Apple presents their products differently. They treat every product like it's the next big thing while their competitors can't seem to do that. Also, I keep hearing people say "who wants an iPad mini?" Well, people obviously care about since there have been countless internet sites talking about it for months. Tablets that are smaller than the iPad are in demand. The problem is Apple's competitors seem to suck at making them. I've even heard some diehard Apple haters say that yes, iPad is a good product and the best of it's kind. Personally, I could care less. I don't own an iPad, never have and I really don't see an immediate need to get one. It's just that people seem to want a reason to hate Apple and it gets old after a while. |
Maybe some of them do, but not nearly all of them. Nexus 7 is the best thing since sliced bread.

I have to agree that the Nexus 7 is a good piece of kit, but the actually quality of the design etc isn't quite up to Apple standard, but who can complain at the cost to buy one? There is talk that the Nexus 7 will sell between 6-8 million units in total by the end of 2012, but will this rate slowdown now with the release of the iPad mini? We will see.

I doubt it. The rumour is that they're updating the line (probably to compete with the Kindle Fire HD based on the rumoured storage increase) but keeping the low prices.
