you're point is well taken and as a result i updated my post to state "nintendo's current leadership". wii might look like an exception nintendo's overall history but the leadership that created the wii is still leading nintendo and has been quite vocal out their stance on the subject of graphics -- it is a low priority. they prioritize innovating the controller and the wiiU is no differnent in that nintendo's banking on the gamepad selling the system...not via raw power.
