Well WinRT stands for "Windows RunTime" (WinRT is the "new" infrastructure for building and assembling Windows programs for RT/ARM-based devices), so I'm assuming the RT in Surface stands for the same thing.



Actually Windows RT in the sense of the surface just means Windows on ARM. WinRT the "Windows Runtime" refers to the new metro interface which is not Windows RT specific, confusingly similar but different terms.
