recent history has told us that halo and cod is always neck and neck in north america, so something is up because black ops 2 on ps3 should be near halo

yes like i said, black ops looks undertracked.

and what is recent history and "always"? there is only 1 halo game you can maybe compare with cod of the same year and this is reach and even then, both had different releases, cod in holiday season and halo pre-holiday season so even these numbers are not really comparable.

btw i just checked the numbers, in 2010, halo reach had ~1,200,000 preorders 3 weeks before release and the ps3 cod had ~800k preorders 4 weeks before release so there was also an almost 400k gap with same time before release.

Halo: Reach (X360)
Microsoft, Shooter
3 166,818 1,193,162
Call of Duty: Black Ops (PS3)
Activision, Shooter
4 55,702 816,721

if you have still a theory i would like to hear it.

Halo reach did 2.3m opening week while black ops on ps3 did 2m, plus halo isn't competing with cod, so modern warfare 3 on ps3 did 2.2m on ps3, meaning every cod is improving in north america, plus have you seen how huge cod opens on the 360 in north america? the 360 version of black ops 2 should be a clear 500k ahead.
