16GB Ram would do it.

But aren't Quadros too expensive for your budget?

You can SLI two 660s.

So, a dual GTX is better than a single Quadro?

I heard Quadro supposed to be great for video production. I know nothing about it, though.

don't get dual gtx imo, SLI causes issues with random things. Can cause heat problems. it's better to just get 1 better card in almost all situations. Unless you already have a single card. Or You're going crazy and getting 2 top top top end cards.

I don't do video editing. But I do cad drawing with solidworks, catia etc. So I have a system with a quadro and one with nvidia gtx 660ti.

The issue is, the performance on the GTX's are much better for the price, There are like quadro's from 100-6000$ or more. The ones at the ultra-high price range are better, however that's out of your range. If I remember correctly Quadro's are better supported by the like say solidworks catia. And the geforce drivers are buggier, less optimized.

Since it's a home system and not a professional system (I'm get contracts for SW projects) and you're using adobe premier which is widely used. I don't imagine you running into driver issues, glitches. That you won't be able to get around if you even get any.
