It pretty accurately defines the system; Wii (4 motion controllers) and U (the single Gamepad). It's a pretty accurate described of a system which takes the Wii local multiplayer/social philosophy, and adds in the "you" - "Wii U" basicly covers that and the asymmetrical philosophy.
Whether the name sounds good or not is subjective. Personally, I find that "Vita" sounds like some sort of cheap Italian lunch wrap. Whereas Playstation and Nintendo Entertainment system make the most sense for a videogame system out of anything I can think of. Xbox, what is that supposed to mean? Xtreme Box? Spelled to sound like some hip 1995 deodorant, cologne, and aftershave box set aimed at 14 year olds?
GameCube is pretty direct, but I also think it sounds kind of like the name of a children's toy. Nintendo 64 and Xbox 360 more or less just added big numbers to existing names to make them sound more advanced than just adding an incremental number beside them.
I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.
