Let me ask this. Is it really so easy? Because I hate it when a game plays almost itself.

If you played a mario game before, the difficulty is pretty much the same with the most recent games, if its your first time playing, you might find it somewhat weird/difficult at first but will get used to it fast.

I recently played...pretty much all of the mario games (side scrollers) from the past and some in the current and I ended the games with these number of lives (the older ones were the hardest):

Super Mario Bros (NES) = 7 lives
Super Mario Bros 2 (NES) = 17 lives
Super Mario Bros 3 (NES) = 40 lives
Super Mario World (SNES) = 75 lives
Super Mario Land (GB) = 9 lives
Super Mario Land 2 (GB) = 22 lives
New Super Mario Bros Wii (Wii) = 72 lives

Dont listen to the guy in the video though, seems like he isnt really good at the game. Nintendo recently implemented some sort of user friendly system where if you die a lot , they offer some sort of feature that will help you finish the stage (in the case of New Super Mario Bros Wii and Donkey Kong Country Returns - They play the level for you when you get stuck but you dont get rewarded or anything for completing the level, the game doesnt recognize that you finished the level).

^ Of course that is optional if you die a lot in some places. The places where you will die the most will probably be in fortresses and castles and a few levels with some pit holes etc.

you just told me not to listen to jeremy...
