The youtube videos mask artifacts and aliasing. I'm guessing it's mostly because of the aliasing.

yeah ok but if i watch a youtube video in 720p in full screen on my tv and do the same playing the game the game looks better. maybe it masks some bad stuff but it also kills all the good stuff^^ and if something in forza horizon is very good it is anti-aliasing which in my opinion is one of the best i ever saw in a console game (from what i saw in the demo) so that can't be really the reason. that was always something i didn't like in forza but i really had no problems with it in the demo, even fine structures of a fence had no really bad aliasing problems.

Well your imagination makes up for it . You know this is a youtube video so you know the bitrate is low but you can't account for all the little things. Also, low resolution textures become much more obvious when everything is clear in your TV.
Alright, then it must be something else than the aliasing.

if youtube looks better on the same screen and the same size as if i play the game, why don't i put my console on a machine which simulates this and can send the worse quality to my tv? then i have a better picture with lower quality! that will be the new revolution for nex gen consoles, an build-in quality destroyer to make the game look better
