To be fair, the "Vita is dead" people do have a point to some extent. The Vita isn't doing great right now, and no one knows how well devs outside of Sony will support it in the future. If this is a major concern, then I'd say hold off. However, if you feel like you'd be getting your money's worth based on what's been announced and what is currently out, then I say go for it. A lot of systems that had short lives still had some great games worth buying.
