I suppose I was overzealous with them too - they are my third favorite company, behind only Nintendo and Capcom - but I think they'll be fine.
Next Layton, releasing in the spring is probably the last for a awhile, so the team will move to other projects - maybe big, maybe not. But they have to keep trying. If all fails, at least they'll die trying :)
But I think that day is still far away... If that happens, I hope Nintendo buys them, they're more or less Nintendo second party now, anyway.
