I play games a lot more this gen than i did any other gen. So i say everything you stated was a good thing for me. Although i do find it annoying with the lack of single player games there are these days. Would i like a 50+ hour campaign? Yes do we get them? not as much as last gen but it is easily made up in the infinite amount of hours we can play online.

that is until those servers are eventually shut down and you no longer have that option......then just left with that 8hr mediocre campaign :/

I just always felt any and every game should have a strong single player experience because online eventually goes. I buy games for keeps(I dont rent or treat them like the blockbuster movies and return them), very rarely I buy a game...feel completely done with it and resell it. So if I am holding onto a game for life....it is under the impression that one day.....i will riminence about all the fun times I had in said game years ago.....and then pick that game back up and experience them again. You can't say you will be able to do that in online heavy games(consoles) because server time is very finite.

Demon's Souls for instance has a great single player experience on top of the online. They are going to eventually shut down those servers(been threatening to for a year now but they keep it up for the fans) but when they do the game can still be fully enjoyed no prob. Can anyone say that about Call of Duty? I doubt it.
