Sometimes I think I must be the only person with a slow broadband connection. I can't watch high quality video streams without buffer breaks so there's no way I'd be able to play a game streaming across the internet. If Sony or MS or whatever installs a server farm across the street maybe I'd be more hopeful. But right now I have no interesting in stream gaming.
I know I'm not the only one. The US has a huge number of rural slow connections that aren't going to get upgraded any time soon. The US is just far too big to get fiber in every home at a reasonable cost. |
you can't even watch a 720 youtube video without giving it some time to buffer up? because you have to remember that almost all playstation 3 games are rendered natively in that anyway, Even here in Ireland it's been possible to stream at 720 for the past couple of years, and our internet is made of potatoes and lucky charms.

if you think your interent is bad come to jordan, we still over 128/256/512 KB's speed here, my internet connection is 4 MB but it always is slower than promised. i always find it funny when people in the states complain about there interent, just come live here for a month and you will think your interent connection is faster than light its self

I pay for 10mbps, but my actual download speed is only 1.24mbps and my upload is a pathetic .41mbps.
You're paying for 8 times what youa re getting and I'm paying for over 9 times what I get.

you guys know that the majority of broadband companys sell packages which are 24mb but it's megabit not megabyte while they have very similar names the difference is exactly 8 times more, if you are on an 8megabit connection the max you will be able to download is 8megabits per second.... which is 1 megabyte.

I know it's begabit. That goes without saying. If I had a MB connection I'd have nothing to complain about. I typed it all in undercase so it wouldn't be confused with uppercase MEGABYTE. I do know the difference.
You missed my point. I said I'm paying for 10mbps but only getting 1.24mbps. I'm complaining that I'm paying for about 8-9 times the speed I'm actualy getting. If my rate was 9 times less I wouldn't complain, but I feel cheated.

ah okie sorry I just figured with the 8x error between what you're getting and what you should be getting a mistake in unit coulda been the issue, still tho even at 1.24mbps you could stream a game around standard defination.... maybe :< I guess that just isn't an option tho for everyone but a lot of people would be able to use it as full 1080 BC and I'd rather have any form of backwards compatibility than that of the ps3slim :(
