While I agree Mikami's departure was a massive blow to the series as is the case with most franchises when a key creator leaves, it wasn't solely because Capcom put RE on PS2 although that did play into it along with their treatment of Clover Studios.

The fact is Capcom like unfortunately many companies in the industry are acting like chickens with their heads cut off trying to bleed every franchise they have dry of blood. They forget the foundation that let the games that came before become legendary and instead just copy it or dumb it down to get new customers. As it is, Monster Hunter is their new cash cow and time will only tell if they do to that series what they wound up doing to Mega Man, Street Fighter and now apparently Resident Evil.

Funny, if you would have told me RE: Revelations would be the most satisfying RE experience I'd have all year I would have laughed at you because they were releasing RE6 and they always get the even numbered entries right.

Let's hope they drop a director's cut or a spin off soon that can get the taste of disappointment out of the fans mouths. Also stop trying to cram Chris down our throats, he is probably go down as the least liked of the RE main protagonists in history and poor game play like in RE6 won't help.

Edit: But either way, it isn't because they left Nintendo, it is because the current Powers that Be are flipping morons and the company is only afloat because of lucking into the  Monster Hunter franchise via the PSP system catching on like crazy and feeding off the nostalgia for loyal fanbases of past games.
