PS2 was a poorly built piece of crap though, pity so many good games were exclusive to such a junker of a console.

Too bad for every good game their are 50 crappy ones.

Honestly, though, this could be said for just about any system, really.  For every good game that comes out there's always a myriad of crappy ones that come, and that goes for any system.  Not just the PS2.  Not trying to defend it or anything, but that's truth.  Just like for every good book that hits the store shelves, there are a myriad of bad ones.  The thing is, though, if you look at it that way, then the PS2 actually did have a ton of good games if you were to actually look at how big its library was.  I mean if for every fifty crappy games there was one good one, you've got more than enough good games.  But like I said, this is something that could be said about any and every system.  Also, about the PS2 being built so junky.  Yeah, just about all that stuff Gball said was true.  All those things made it to the news as well.  In fact, Sony didn't even work out all the bugs until the 50001+ model which came out in 2004!  Although it is true, it was the games that kept the PS2 afloat.  People bought it because they wanted the games.  It's typically why any gamer buys a system.  The games are far more important than the actual hardware.  Why is the PSP selling less than the DS?  Because of games.  The PSP is good HARDware but it doesn't have the best SOFTware.   As far as I'm concerned, I don't think the DS will beat the PS2 any time soon.  That would depend on how long the PS2 will stay on the market, as well as the DS.  I hear Nintendo is already working on the next handheld console.  But given that the GBA sold over 80 million units and the DS is the fastest selling console in history, there's a very good chance it'll beat the PS2.  As long as Nintendo keeps it on the market for years to come.

As much as I like VGChartz, I must be honest. I'm not too interested in the community. Most (I'd say a good 70% of the people here) are too caught up in the fanboyism and politics of gaming, and are mostly just people waiting to ravenously insult another user on the forums. I tried participating in the forums but rather than discuss it seems most of you would rather tear other people down. Why is it necessary to insult everyone who thinks differently than you? Also, not everything here is a fanboy conspiracy. I see the word fanboy here than I do on most forums out there. I'm sorry, I don't want to be a part of a community that's so negative towards everyone all the time. I'd rather go to a place where the people of a forum are more willing to discuss and step away from personal attacks any time someone disagrees with them. I just can't take it anymore.

So I ask, respectfully, that you don't add me. I'll more than likely respond to respectful messages but don't count on me being on the forums too much and don't count on me accepting your friend request.
