Well, the PSP is still going well and takes a share of the VITA sales. As soon as the next Kingdom Hearts or Final Fantasy will come to the Vita, the Sales numbers will go up significantly.

I think that the PS4 will also have two weak years after its launch. There is simply no good reason to buy a console at launch (at least for the masses), since the really good games are waiting for a higher install base before releasing the game. And the gamer wait for the big games to be released.

The PS3 showed me that the early adopter has more disadvantages that advantages. You can enjoy the console a year or two earlier, but you will most likely only get 2 or 3 really great games that take advantage of the new console. I but my PS3 at launch and had two years of Software draught. Then finally the first really big games that I actually bought the console bought for were released (Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil, Final Fantasy)... and my launch PS3 got a YLOD and I had to buy a new one.

Thats the reasons I just didn't buy a 3DS or the VITA by now. I waited for the first big game and there is a good chance that there will be a hardware revision after the first 1-2 years.
