WiiU could just as easily do that in NA. I mean it sold out of all pre-orders in just over a day. 8m is a great starting number if true from a business point of view for Nintendo.

Well, as far as I understand it PS3 also sold out all of their pre-orders... And didn't Wii sell like 3 million? No way WiiU will be able to sell 8m in 2012...

Wii sold ~4m and could of easily did over 10m.

But, this 8.3m figure is likly the amount they intend to ship by March 31 2013, which would be 2m over what they shipped for Wii.
