They'll be fine. The fire is part of their artificial shortages plan.

nope read it... just WiiU... additionally, Nintendo says that at this point there is no reason to believe that fire will negatively effect their production. So 8.3m is still a target number (based on that analysts target).

Man Wii only had ~4m during 2006 holiday and ~7m through March (ended the year with ~17m). If WiiU has ~8m during 2012 holiday and is able to get another ~5m or so by March... it could easily beat Wii's first year... maybe even the entire Gamecube lifetime in that first year alone.

That 8.3m has to be through March 2013. Guess we'll know come October 24th.

Hopefully something in the MS and Sony targets will hint at next gen.

Yeah I think so too - it would be crazy by Nintendo to expact to sell 8m WiiU THIS holiday - and it would be even crazier if that actually happened! If they sell 8m+ this holiday alone I predict a life time of 150m+ ;)

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

Wii could of easily broken 8m... hell it would've sold anything produced.

WiiU could just as easily do that in NA. I mean it sold out of all pre-orders in just over a day. 8m is a great starting number if true from a business point of view for Nintendo.

Well, as far as I understand it PS3 also sold out all of their pre-orders... And didn't Wii sell like 3 million? No way WiiU will be able to sell 8m in 2012...

Wii sold ~4m and could of easily did over 10m.

But, this 8.3m figure is likly the amount they intend to ship by March 31 2013, which would be 2m over what they shipped for Wii.
