I love how Yahoo spins political polls like this.

It's just not practical to get millions of people or even tens of thousands of people surveyed.  The best you can do is get a random sample (where everyone has an equal probability of being selected) and generalize it to the greater population (external validity). 

It's the best that can be done.  You are right though, if anything, these numbers apply to Famitsu readers moreso than the general population.

But at least Nintendo has the core crowd interested in the Wii U, so that's a plus.
