All I know is, all the older people I know call every console a playstation. It dont matter what it is. Its a playstation lol. Unless they are being very specific.
M$ has done really well this gen with getting people to know who they are. Sony have been completely incompetent. With that been said playstation is still the better known name.
Example, Adidas is doing better then Nike at the moment but Nike is still the bigger/better known name. Same kind of principle.
