I agree with alot of your comment, but don't forget what the topic was all about in the first place, the fact that EA made this game knowing it had no chances (and now with the trilogy its even worst). And why did EA do such a thing instead of working for a Dead space 3 or Medal of Honor port? 1) True, proving that the game was made despite the fact that alot of ppl would'nt be interested in paying 60$ for it in the first place. But for some ppl, the Wii U's features is enough to justify the higher price. 2) On this, my point was that no matter wich game I bought, I wouldn't get the full experience making them both equal. But I was more interested in the Wii U version cause it's more new and has the Wii U's features. I agree with you that both ME2 and ME3 alone both would'nt give me the full experience, but if I had to choose one between the 2 I would pick the last one. (but other ppl could disagree with me and would pick ME2 just cause they can then buy the 3rd game in case they fall in love with the franchise. 3)Again, I agree with you. But this once again prooves my point. I said I had no intention on buying the game now, but that is because I will have so many games to play once comes November that I decided to scratch this games from my list mainly cause EA angered me by this move. But once comes a video game drought in Mars or April maybe I could reconsider. But if I do, i'll buy the Trilogy with no hesitation. My point is that EA made ME3 on wii u for new players to the franchise but they then launch the trilogy that will force all these ppl who have multiple platforms to move away from Wii U's ME3 and buy the trilogy instead, limiting the game's potential buyers to Wii only owners. 4) Again, I agree with you. If I did'nt have a ps3 and I wanted to play the game that badly, I would buy it. But it's not the case. I do not want it THAT BADLY, so I won't buy it and everyone who only have a Wii U and were interested in the game, with the annoucement of a better deal with the trilogy, ALOT of ppl who did'nt want the game that badly will be convinced that they should buy something else instead of being ripped off only because they are Wii players. If I WANTED a hamburger rly badly, I would still buy it, but If I did'nt care that much, I would order something else instead of feeling stupid by ordering the hamburger knowing I could have fries and a drink with that for the same price I only I went into a other restaurant.
So, what is this game rly aimed at? Players who never bought a ME game. Of all these ppl, you scratch out the multiplat owners that would buy the trilogy and you also scratch out all the Wii only owners who would'nt accept to be ripped off while watching the other platform owners getting the full package for the same price. That leaves only the Wii only users that wants the game RLY BADLY, but I doubt their is alot of them because like you said if they wanted the game so badly, they would have already bought a xbox360 or got them on PC. So how many ppl does that leaves? How many ppl will actualy buy the game? And how many copy does EA expect to sell when you also add all the other Wii U games launching around the same time that are competing with ME3? EA are not stupid, they must know all of this and their is no way they are expecting this game to sell alot. And now apparently EA are not even launching it before black Friday making things worst. So if EA knows this, why did they put these extremely slim rescources on this game instead of a Medal of Honor, Need for Speed or Dead Space 3 port that would all do much better on the system? If Ubisoft managed to make a AC3 port in time despite the game being aimed to launch on other consoles in late October, why could'nt EA make it happen for games that are aimed at launching even later? Same goes for Madden, why would'nt they be able to make the new engine work for the Wii U version when that version is launching 2months after other versions? All these question creates all these conspiracy theories making ppl think that EA does'nt want ME3 to sell because they want an argument to not support the Wii U. Same for Madden, how could a version a Madden that is 2months late and that lacks the new engine (EA's main selling argument) have good sales? I will end my post with this... Surely you and everyone agrees that when a publisher see bad sales for their games on a console will usualy end up not supporting that console. This is not a conspiracy theory, it's a fact. 3rd party publisher games did'nt sell well on the wii, so they ended up not making games for the system. Few western publisher games sold well on the 3DS and now we see rly few games on the system. So if ME3 and Madden does'nt sell on Wii U, what will EA do? Will they say it's their fault because of all the reasons we listed? Or will they say it's not worth it to develop games for the Wii U? If you look at what happened after the 3DS's first year when all we saw was shamfull terrible ports of madden and fifa from EA and they both sold terribly... what happened then? We never saw a single other EA game on the 3DS ever again, not even a new version of these sports games that HAD to be in development before the launch of their predecessors if EA hoped to see these games launch for September, proving that EA knew they would give up on the system way before these games sold badly cause otherwise these games would have been in development. |
thats just it though, I agree that they sent it out to die, but I dont agree that they sent it out to die BECAUSE they decided to do the trilogy for PS360/PC. The game was sent out to die the day they annouced it WITHOUT even having at least ME2 on the same system. There was almost no fanfare for the game, at least when they put ME2 on PS3 we all knew that the third game would be multiplat so there would be some interest. As for DS and MOH, I have NO idea, im not really interested in those two so i dont pay much mind. Maybe they'll port it one day, they did have MOH and DS games on Wii.
1) Honestly, I kind of doubt that the difference between ME3 on Wii U will be that such more than the versions already out. EA is barely talking about them and we havent really seen anything from it and the game is supposed to be out soon. I remain skeptical and even if you are still missing the link to the other two games which is one of if not the biggest selling points of the series anyway.
2) to each his own as I said before the linking is the biggest selling point, kinda crazy to miss out on it. I think you might be in the minority on that one, i"m sure of it, but have at it.
3) fair enough. I pulled took the game of the list myself BECAUSE the trilogy is coming. I dont think they are forcing anyone with multiple platforms to do anything. Do you honestly believe that MOST people who are multiplat owners and ME fans were going to buy the WIi U version? Judging just by the reactions only, I highly doubt it. They most likely would have gotten all three games by now anyway, at least on 360/PC.
4) you dont care that much and thats fair enough.
You ask alot of questions towards the end and i have no answers, ive been asking who ME3 for Wii U is really for since the day it was announced. I'm all for games being multiplat but IMHO ME3 for Wii U shouldnt exist, not in the current form. Every game you mentioned would have made more sense to do on Wii U. I'm still holding out hope that the trilogy will make it to WIi U, but if it doesnt you can put me in the EA hates Ninty boat.
