Yeah, turns out the stuff I read about was just rumour from GameMaster and an "inside" source... some of which has already been proven false considering they said an announcement would occur at E3 this year. Still, here's the link(s):

It would be nice if there were still three mainline FF teams. However, until Squenix come out an say something, we'll never know for sure.
