Common misconception, Nintendo doesn't make violent or mature games on their console.

Its true Nintendo's internal development teams always aim for family friendly entertainment with their games, but Nintendo has no problem have a second party or external third party developer create violent games and publish them.

Not really surprising, but kind of worries me. The last game I remember getting an Adult Only rating was Manhunt 2. & If remember correctly Nintendo has a zero tolerance for AO (here in the US that is) which is why Manhunt has to be toned down for an M rating.

If the ESRB ends up giving that rating to the NA verison, the game might suffer the same fate. But probably not since the violence is much worse in Mad World (in my personal opinion) and that game got an M rating.

Ninja Gaiden won't get AO in the US unless they have sex or nudity. So far aside from a fanservice laden Ayame, I doubt Team Ninja would actually put that in this game, especially since Nintendo is publishing it.
